Minecraft Ore Lamp
An ore lamp in Minecraft style. 3D printed with RGBE lights, allowing you to switch between different ore types.

Right after I bought the Bambu H2C, I couldn’t wait to test multi-color printing (I could stare at the Vector system all day). At first, I designed a command block, hoping to make a smart home control center (a command block as a smart speaker is a great idea, right?), but the test results were not smooth. The model design was a mess and the display effect was quite limited, so I temporarily gave up on that idea.
On second thought, it would be better to start with a simple multi-color model. Why not make an ore lamp that can transform into various ores? When the white filament is thin enough, the internal light can shine through, and different white filaments can produce different projection brightness, creating colors of varying shades. This effect perfectly matches the pixel brightness in Minecraft.
Based on this, I designed this ore lamp. To achieve the best strength and appearance for each outer surface, I split the model into a frame and texture panels. Since the texture panels use layered printing, there is no need for frequent color changes, and it also brings a staggered surface texture.

I designed a display frame look for the bottom :) Although the proportions don’t feel quite right.

The main controller is still our old friend, the ESP32S3. You can set the ore type (diamond ore/redstone ore/iron ore/gold ore) through the built-in web page, and also customize the color and white saturation.
